Defensury announces Zer0Data Acquisition
12/28/2020 - Defensury, a global cyber security advisory firm headquarted in Las Vegas, NV announces the acquisition of Zer0Data, a cyber security company with offices in Moscow, Russia and Colorado Springs, CO that focuses on the identification of zero-day vulnerabilities for US$38,000,000 as well as a milestone payment of US$5,000,000.
ZeroData finds and acquires zero-day vulnerabilities. A zero-day (also known as 0-day) vulnerability is a computer-software vulnerability that is unknown to those who should be interested in mitigating the vulnerability (including the vendor of the target software). Until the vulnerability is mitigated, hackers can exploit it to adversely affect computer programs, data, additional computers or a network.
Defensury and its subsidiaries will use the extensive database to prevent attacks on clients. Zer0Data will continue to operate as a subsidiary with the sole focus on identification and acquisition of non-published vulnerabilities, but will cease all sales of vulnerabilities to governments and companies.
The deal is currently subject to regulatory approval and is supposed to close in March, 2021.
